You come upon a strange area?

You are walking through the woods at night. The moon is bright and full, its silver light casting an eerie glow through the mist. You hear wolves howling in the distance. You could have sworn you passed the same tree several times. You look up to see in the distance, on a hill is an old mansion. Maybe they can help you find your way, or at least a place to stay for the night. So you come up to the heavy, ornate wooden door and use the equally heavy and ornate knocker, which sends a loud bang echoing through the dark landscape. Despite it being the middle of the night, the man who greets you at the door is fully dressed in old-fashioned clothes. He smiles a bit too wide, showing teeth that are a bit to long and a bit too sharp.
